Bond / financial responsibility
Florida does not require a fixed statewide license bond for every contractor. A Financially Responsible Officer must post a $100,000 surety bond (or irrevocable letter of credit). See Florida bond requirements.

FAQ
Does Florida require general liability for contractors?
Yes. Active CILB certificate or registration holders must maintain public liability and property-damage insurance at the board minimums in Rule 61G4-15.003 and as summarized on the DBPR Construction Industry FAQs.
Are the $300,000 / $100,000 figures per occurrence?
DBPR’s Construction Industry FAQs state those dollar amounts as the minimum insurance active licensees must maintain (general & building: $300,000 liability + $50,000 property damage; other categories: $100,000 + $25,000). Rule 61G4-15.003 lists the same aggregate public-liability and property-damage figures by category. Confirm the current rule text and your COI with your insurer before renewing.
