Arizona contractor bond requirements
Arizona requires a contractor's license bond (surety bond or cash deposit) sized by license type and the volume of Arizona work you expect.
| License type | Annual volume | Bond |
|---|---|---|
| Residential General | Less than $750,000 | $9,000 |
| $750,000 or more | $15,000 | |
| Residential Specialty | Less than $375,000 | $4,250 |
| $375,000 or more | $7,500 | |
| Commercial General (incl. engineering) | $150,000 or less → over $10M | $5,000 → $100,000 |
| Commercial Specialty | $150,000 or less → over $10M | $2,500 → $50,000 |
Dual licenses combine the residential and commercial amounts. Residential contractors must also pay into the ROC Residential Recovery Fund or post a separate $200,000 bond.
